MEET OUR FELINE ROVING REPORTER
In December, 2010, a female black cat from the neighborhood near the library began hanging around the MPL Kinder Garden (outside the youth services department). She was friendly but hungry, so one of the staff gave her a temporary home during the bitter cold holidays. It was subsequently discovered that the kitty lived a short distance from MPL and simply enjoyed visiting the library.

One of our staff continued to furnish treats to our feline visitor, but it was decided that there was no “free lunch.” This kitty should work for her din-dins! A library volunteer suggested that she become the official MPL feline roving reporter (because she roams the neighborhood surrounding the library), and she was named Cauli Le Chat (pronounced Call-e Luh Shot–Cauli for her cauliflower left ear, earned in a feline territorial dispute; her surname is French for “the cat”).

Cauli has two popular blogs in which she discusses what’s happening at and around the library, as well as in and around Mooresville (or elsewhere). Click the logos below to visit her blogs. In addition to blogging, Cauli produces library videos and generally orders her minions around. She enjoys head-scratches, lying in the sun outside the library, and receiving tasty tidbits from helpful staff and friends. Although she is not allowed inside the library, she still manages to report what’s going on.
