500 CHAPTER BOOKS BEFORE MIDDLE SCHOOL
What is it?
500 Chapter Books Before Middle School is an ongoing reading challenge for children in grades K-6. Kids participating in the program can be read to or read independently as well as listen to audiobooks. Participants get to choose the books THEY want to read. This is perfect for readers who have completed the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Challenge and want to keep the reading habit going.
How does it work?
The program is self-paced with ongoing registration and no specific starting or ending date. Books are logged on paper or into the Beanstack app. For every 50 books, the reader receives a prize.
All reading counts! Graphic novels, comic books, cookbooks, fact books, chapter books, audiobooks, repeat books, books for school and more!
Sign up at the library or on BEANSTACK. If you sign up on beanstack, don’t forget to stop by the library to pick up your welcome packet.
Here are how prizes work:
For every 50-chapter books read, kids earn a brag tag. At the halfway point, 250-chapter books, kids earn a brag tag and a free book. After 500-chapter books, kids earn a brag tag, a free book, and a certificate for completing the program. Use this chart to keep track of your prizes!
