Teen Volunteering
If you need to complete service hours for an organization or simply want to help, consider volunteering at the library. We cannot accept teens who need to complete court-ordered service. Adults interested in volunteering should consider joining the Friends of the Library.
You can volunteer during the school year between the hours of 3 PM – 7 PM on Monday – Thursday, and 9 AM – 3 PM on Saturday. Volunteer sessions may be 60-90 minutes. You cannot volunteer more than 3 hours a week. Once you arrive, sign in on the Volunteer sign-in sheet located on Eli’s desk.
Volunteers must have an appointment to volunteer. To schedule a session, reach out to Eli Furuness at elif@mooresvillepublic.lib.in.us, and allow 48 hours for a response confirming the volunteer session. 1 weeks’ notice is preferred to ensure availability.

TEEN READING RECS
- Pick a unifying theme (i.e. YA Fantasy, Books about nature, Sports Romance novels, etc.)
- Select at least 10 books available at the Mooresville Public Library or through Evergreen. You may select more if you choose.
- Design a book list pamphlet with your recommendations, feel free to use these templates:
If you choose to make your own without using the template, you must include:
- Theme
- Title
- 10 books (minimum) with title, author, & cover
- Audience: (Adult, Young Adult, Juvenile, All ages)
Send the completed book list as a PDF attachment to elif@mooresvillepublic.lib.in.us
- If you are a member of NJHS/NHS or other organization that requires volunteer credit hours, include your name in the email (not on pamphlet).
Only one submission will be accepted each week, and each completed reading sheet will count as 1 hour of volunteer credit pending approval.
Approved Reading Recommendation lists may be printed and distributed at the Mooresville Public Library.
