Your modern library offers books, videos, computer games, audio books, music CDs, electronic books, and much more.  So much to choose from!  We can help narrow down your search with in-house displays and several free online databases (especially for our library cardholders).

BOOK DISPLAYS

We always have several displays of books and DVDs up at MPL!

When you walk into the library, to your left, just past the information desk, we have a set of shelves dedicated to all our new fiction and non-fiction books! We try to keep new books up for three months (though there’s not always room), so if you’re looking for something new, start there! And the young adult and children’s areas also have new book displays, so we’ve got the whole family covered.

We also have individual displays throughout the library, and these can range anywhere from books and movies with a seasonal theme to local collections and historical memorabilia! Most of the displays change monthly, so there’ll often be something new for you to check out when you come in!

Can’t usually make it in during our operating hours, or have circumstances that limit your mobility? We can work with you!

EBOOKS AND OUTREACH

MPL has partnered with other libraries and with a company called Overdrive to make ebooks available to our patrons! And the Overdrive catalog has multiple featured book sections, based on recently returned books and audiobooks, new and newly added fiction, non-fiction, and audiobooks, and teen and juvenile books! And you don’t need an ereader or an MP3 player to access these: our ebooks and digital audiobooks can be read and played on a regular computer and even on a smartphone.

We also have some options available to patrons who are housebound or temporarily unable to make it to the library, and who do not have Internet access. As a Mooresville resident, you’re still our patron; and we’ll do our best to make sure you have access to the library. Our ebooks and programming sections have more information on this!

And if you ever can’t find something you’re looking for, just let a librarian know and we’ll be happy to try and get it! The library is just a hop, skip, and phone call away!
